【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesforthedeterminationofmoistureandresidueinliquidchlorine.Theconcentrationlevelsoftheseimpuritiesareimportantfactorsinmanycommercialusesofliquidchlorine.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofmoistureandresidueinliquidchlorine.Lowerlimitsofdetectionof10ppm(w/w)basedona150mLsampleareachievable.1.2Thistestmethoddescribesoperationsandspecialapparatusforsamplingliquidchlorinefromcylinders.Samplingothercommercialfacilitiessuchastankcars,barges,andstoragetanksrequirespecialtechniquesofmanipulationinfillingsamplecylindersfortesting.Ifconditionsandfacilitiesarefavorable,theanalysisapparatusmaybeconnecteddirectlytotheselargerstorageandtransportationunitsandon-the-spottestsmaybecompleted.1.3Theanalyticalmethodsareempiricalandaregravimetric.Theyareapplicabletothedeterminationoftheresidueandmoisturecontentofcommercialgradesofliquidchlorine(condensedgaseousproduct).1.4Residueisdefinedasbeingthosesubstanceswhichremaininthesampleflaskaftersamplevolatilizationundertheconditionsofthetest.Moistureisdefinedasthevolatilesubstancesevolvedduringvolatilizationandpurgingofthesample-residueflaskandabsorbedonthedesiccantcontainedintheabsorptiontubesundertheconditionsofthetest.Someofthevolatilechlorinatedhydrocarbonsmayalsobeevolvedfromthesampleresidueflaskduringpurgeandabsorbed,thuscontributingtotheapparentmoistureanalysisvalue.1.5Thistestmethodmaybeusedfordeterminingthemoisturecontentonlyofgaseouschlorineifsuitableandappropriatemodificationsaremadeforsamplemeasurementandcalculation.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Themetricequivalentsofinch-poundunitsmaybeapproximate.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection7.
