【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsmeasuretheamountofcarboxylgroupspresentinwoodorcottonlinterpulp.Carboxylgroupsareindicativeofthesurfacechargeofthepulpwhichisaveryimportantquantityforuseinthepapermakingindustry.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthecarboxylcontent,orion-exchangecapacity,ofcellulosefromanysource.Twotestmethodsaredescribed,thesodiumchloride-sodiumbicarbonatemethod()andthemethylenebluemethod().Thetestmethodsmustbeusedwithintheirlimitations,anditmustberecognizedthatthereisnowayofdeterminingtheaccuracyofanymethodforthedeterminationofcarboxyl.Theprecisionofthesodiumchloride-sodiumbicarbonatemethodislowinthelowerrangeofcarboxylvalues.Themethylenebluemethodcanbeusedoverthewholerangeofcarboxylvalues;itisespeciallyusefulinthelowrange.Itisnotapplicabletothedeterminationofcarboxylinsolublecarbohydratematerial.Althoughthesetestmethodsmaybeusedtodeterminetheion-exchangecapacityofunbleachedpulps,theresidualligninwillcauseanundeterminederror,especiallythesulfonicacidgroupsinunbleachedsulfitepulps().1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
